Editorial Standards
Last updated: 11 October 2026
GP Headlines is an independent Formula 1 publication edited by Steve Lavigne, who is responsible for its editorial content. These are the standards we hold our coverage to.
Accuracy
Results, grids, championship standings and the race calendar come from official timing and classification data, via the community-maintained Jolpica F1 API (the successor to the Ergast project). Our previews, race reports and analysis are written against that data, and we do not publish invented quotes, lap times or incidents.
Sourcing and attribution
When an article draws on reporting from another outlet, such as a team principal's comments or a contract story, we credit that outlet and link to the original in a "Sources & further reading" panel at the end of the piece. We summarise and analyse; we don't republish other outlets' articles.
News and opinion
Our race reports, previews and standings pieces report what happened and what the numbers mean. Our round-ups and analysis also include editorial judgement: our considered view on decisions, performances and where the season is heading. We aim to be fair and measured, criticising decisions and performances rather than people, and we avoid sensationalism and clickbait.
Independence
GP Headlines is not affiliated with Formula 1, the FIA, any team, driver or sponsor, and we do not publish paid or sponsored articles. The site is supported by advertising, and advertisers have no influence over what we cover or what we say. Advertising is always clearly separated from editorial content.
Corrections
If we get something wrong, we want to fix it. Tell us through the contact form. We correct factual errors promptly and update the article's date when we do.
